A few weeks ago, AIA Shanghai met for canapes, and an enlightening talk by Kyle Lawrence Mertensmeyer. Kyle presented his research he conducted at Gensler on using design-thinking to solve pollution-related problems that Chinese cities are currently tackling.
Our Monthly Happy Hours are open to all. Non-members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

ABOUT KYLE MERTENSMEYER
Kyle Mertensmeyer is owner & founder for three companies in Shanghai, China; Shanghai Godolphin, MM CONSULATE, and Kaleidoskope. Kyle is more than a designer, he is a problem solver using design thinking not only to create beauty, but also to create and improve the environments we inhabit.
From 2013-2016 Kyle received three consecutively funded grants from Gensler for the study of indoor/ outdoor air pollution. This research sought to use design thinking to solve major challenges facing clean air in China and the world.
Kyle’s experience encompasses both big and small practice areas, from research, city planning, high and low architecture, interiors, product design, strategy consulting and branding. Kyle lecturers at Tongji Univer- sity’s Design Innovation School and has also lectured at, Nottingham University, and Judson University.
