Alton Chow is Vice President and Managing Director of Central China at AECOM and focuses on strategic development for the firm’s integrated services encompassing architecture, building engineering, planning, economics, project and construction management, and cost consultancy.

Vice president | Silas Chiow, AIA

Silas Chiow has served as SOM China Director since 2003. In this capacity, he is responsible for steering the firm’s overall strategic objectives in the region in close coordination with U.S.-based managing and design partners.

Since 2010, Jason has served as the General Manager of Steinberg’s Shanghai office, where he works with clients and design teams to establish design goals, work plans, budgets and quality control procedures that meet the fast paced demands of the Chinese design and construction market.

Arturo is currently chief architect and senior design director at department 1 of China Shanghai Architectural Design & Research Institute, part of China State Construction. He leads a team of architects, interior designers and landscape architects on the firm's international projects.

Remembering John Portman

We sadly share the news that John C. Portman Jr., FAIA passed away last month at the age of 93. Mr. Portman was an American architect who founded John Portman & Associates in Atlanta. He designed many projects both in the US and abroad. He was an early influence on the design of prominent Shanghai landmarks including Shanghai’s Tomorrow Square and the Shanghai Center. He was also a developer, artist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. Please see this link for further information.
