The AIA Shanghai China Design Excellence Awards (CDEA)was set up to have a unique position to contribute our collective voice to lead the profession in urban design, architecture, and interior design. The CDEA’s goal is to elevate the profession in both design and professional practice. The awards’ winners were selected not only because their project met the requirements or the design brief, but also by their responses to social, cultural, and climate change challenges. The awards’ winning projects were chosen as exemplary projects or projects that expanded the boundaries or even define new directions for future projects.
This will be an informal yet educational opportunity for the attendees to have exchanges with the awards’ winners. The presentation should be inspirational and focuses on challenges and lessons learned from the project process, we encourage the winner to cover lessons learned not only on the designs but also from the development, planning approval process, and construction process. Each winning firm will present for up to 20 minutes, followed by a moderated Q&A conversation between the presenting group and the other winning teams or the individual winner.
