Our young and fast-growing AIA chapter seeks qualified, dedicated individuals who possess a strong interest in contributing as a leader in our cross-cultural community. Our chapter is led by a team of volunteer officers serving 2-year terms, supported by a volunteer Executive Committee.

The AIA Shanghai | Beijing Executive Committee is led by 4 elected officers, each serving a 2-year term. President | Vice President | Secretary | Treasurer

Terms for office are staggered - this year, the 2023 election cycle is for the 2023 Vice President / 2024 President and 2023/2024 Treasurer.

Secretary and Treasurer are both two-year terms that rotate on an alternating cycle. Our current chapter secretary Ziwen Cai will remain in this position for the 2023 year.

We are living in an unprecedented time. Rarely in history, we see such juxtaposition be- tween the urgency of global challenges such as global warming and social inequity and the promises of accelerating technologies such a digitization, AI, and green infrastruc- ture. The world has certainly moved into an era of massive changes, powered by these great forces. Either we let changes overtake us, or we can help the world make positive transformations through this changing time. We have a key role to play.

I am writing to earn your support for my election for the Vice President 2023| President 2024 position of AIA Shanghai | Beijing. My name is Mark Liu, Partner and Managing Director of China for The Jerde Partnership, a Los Angeles-based, global, boutique-scaled design firm. We have been in Shanghai, China since the late nineties and were a founding member of AIA Shanghai. I have personally been in Shanghai since 2015.

In my 37 years in the industry, I have lived and worked in Hong Kong (1yr), Los Angeles (15yrs), Taiwan (4yrs), Thailand (4yrs), Abu Dhabi (4yrs), Dubai (1yr), Beijing (1yr), and Shanghai (7yrs). Across those locations, I have served in different capacities including designer, project manager, Partner, Managing Director, CEO, and Board Director. I have built and sold a company, participated in positioning a company to be listed, and turned around a large defaulting MNC.

My name is Hemmer Xu and was a member of AIA Shanghai-Beijing chamber for 2021 and 2022. As it was announced that the chamber is looking for its officers for the year of 2023, I am writing hereby to apply for the 2023 treasury.

I am currently working for China Life real estate asset management company, an affiliated enterprises under China Life Group. My working position is the director of the general administration department for the company. The company is mainly operating those real estates assets under China Life group through acquisition, including development projects and operational projects. I am basically supervising those projects in term of overall design and construction management, budgeting and cost control.
